![]() After lunch, students pour from the school building to our playground for recreation and physical activity. Students can’t wait to enter the mulch covered area to play on the large colorful jungle gym and swing set.
“Let’s swing on the swings,” shouts Eisha to her friend Merva. The girls rush to the swings followed by Sr. Fatema to insure the safety of that play area.
Ibrahim and Saleck are standing atop the jungle gym waiting their turns for the tunnel slide. Sr. Vicki gently reminds them, “One person on the slide at a time.” Still others are climbing the stairs and sliding down the pole of the playground equipment while Sr. Kulsum cheers them on and monitors their safety.
Meanwhile, the third and fourth grade classes organize a game of soccer in the spacious grassy area next to the playground. Sr. Vicki leaves the tunnel slide to help referee the game.
Too soon, it is time to return to school. Students line up and follow the teaching staff to the building. But the playground is not empty for long. Her come the Pre K students!
Within minutes, Ms. Tammy is pushing Azra, Zara, and Daud on the swings. Ms. Kim is helping a group of 3 and 4 year olds slide down the twisted slide. On the other side of the jungle gym you find Sr. Fatema helping students climb the monkey bars.
In addition to recreational activity, our outdoor facilities serve as space for gym activities and outdoor science exploration activities. |
