Leadership among students is encouraged in several ways. At all grade levels, children are assigned classroom helper responsibilities to help the classes run more smoothly. The boys and girls take turns with jobs such as Line Leader, Paper Distributor, and Messenger. They also have the opportunity to lead our morning Qu’ran recitation/duaa and daily congregational (Jama’a) Zuhr prayers on a rotating basis.

In the higher grades, there are additional leadership opportunities such as “Teacher of the Moment” where one of the students is assigned to go over homework with the class, and “Literature Circles”, student-led discussion of books read in class. Older students also help the younger ones in performing ablution (Wodoo).
